How to pick readable item and rune combinations
Even the best League of Legends build image loses value if viewers cannot understand the loadout quickly. Readability matters more than squeezing in every possible detail.
Do not overload the item row
A final build image should usually focus on completed items, boots, and one clear rune setup. If you mix starters, components, situational swaps, and alternative picks in one frame, the result becomes harder to interpret.
Use visual contrast between rows
If the item row and rune stack both sit on similarly bright backgrounds, the build starts to blur together. Give the eye distinct zones so viewers can separate champion, items, and runes without effort.
Keep shard choices consistent
Offense, Flex, and Defense shards are small, so custom replacements should be used carefully. If you replace shard icons, keep the crop centered and the contrast high enough that the differences remain visible in mobile previews.
Think in viewing order
Most users scan champion, title, items, then runes. If your composition interrupts that order with oversized effects or poor spacing, the build feels slower to understand.
